Spring 2024 Update

Revisioning and the new Advisory Team

We are currently in a phase of reconceptualizing how we want to implement reparations on the local scale. To that end, we are forming an all-Black paid advisory team that will help guide the project and have full decision-making power over the redistribution of resources raised. We are rethinking every aspect of our project: how we raise funds, how to determine receivers, ongoing or one-time payments, what platforms/methods to move money, and if we want to expand to other non-monetary types of mutual aid.

In early 2024, We invited two local Black organizers, also past receivers of RSC funds, to be the founding members of our Advisory Team.
 

Fundraiser

To compensate the Advisory Team for their time and labor attending meetings and being in this work with us as we learn and fail and grow, we are raising $5,000. The amount will provide the necessary funds to support the revisioning and planning phase of our project, which we plan to wrap up by Summer 2024.
